This Privacy Policy applies to the CodexPocket iPhone app (the "App"). The current public release is designed as a companion app that connects your iPhone directly to your own Mac on the same local network.

Summary

  • The current version of the App does not send user data to developer-operated servers for storage.
  • The App does not include advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs.
  • The current version of the App does not require account creation or sign-in.
  • Threads, projects, connection information, and image attachments handled by the App are processed primarily on your iPhone or on your own Mac.
  • The App does not sell user data.

Information the App handles

1. Data collected by the developer

In the current version, the App does not collect personal data in a form accessible to the developer or the developer's third-party partners.

2. Information stored on your iPhone

To provide its functionality, the App may store the following information on your iPhone:

  • Saved host names, connection endpoints, and optional notes
  • Bridge access tokens
  • App settings, including language, theme, font size, and connection preferences
  • Caches used to display projects and thread history
  • Temporary data for image attachments you explicitly select

Host information and bridge tokens are stored securely in Keychain. If Keychain sync is enabled, this information may also sync through Apple's Keychain / iCloud Keychain mechanisms.

3. Information sent directly to your Mac

To provide the core product functionality, the App sends the content you choose to your own Mac directly. This may include:

  • Text you enter into threads
  • Input required for command, exec, or branch actions
  • Identifiers needed to reference projects and threads
  • Image attachments you explicitly choose

This data is processed or retained on your own Mac, not on developer-operated servers.

Permissions the App uses

PermissionPurpose
Local NetworkTo discover and connect to your Mac bridge on your local network
CameraTo scan a pairing QR code
PhotosTo attach images you explicitly select. The App uses the system photo picker and does not ask for ongoing full-library access
NotificationsTo display on-device local notifications such as task completion alerts. The current version does not register remote push tokens with developer-operated servers

The App does not use Contacts, Location, Microphone, or the advertising identifier.

How information is used

Information handled on your device or your own Mac is used to:

  • connect your iPhone to your own Mac
  • restore projects and threads so you can resume work
  • securely retain connection information such as bridge tokens
  • handle image attachments you selected and local notifications

Sharing with third parties

In the current version, the App does not share user data with advertising networks, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.

The current version of the App also does not include third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs.

If a future release adds a third-party service that can access user data, we will require protections at least as protective as those described on this page and update this policy and the App Store disclosure before release.

If you open an external website from the App, data handling on that site is governed by the privacy policy of that site's operator.

Retention

  • Settings, caches, and temporary data on your iPhone may remain on the device while you use the App or until they are overwritten by newer data
  • Host information and bridge tokens stored in Keychain may remain until you remove the corresponding host
  • Data sent to your own Mac is retained according to the settings and storage state on that Mac
  • In the current version, there is no user data from this App retained on developer-operated servers

Privacy Choices and Deletion

You can manage permissions, revoke access, and remove data in the following ways:

  • Use the iOS Settings app to change Local Network, Camera, Photos, and Notifications permissions for the App
  • Remove a saved host inside the App to delete the related host information and bridge token where possible
  • Delete the App to remove app-container settings and caches from the device
  • However, items stored in Keychain or synced through iCloud Keychain may remain according to Apple's Keychain behavior, so removing saved hosts before uninstalling is recommended

Because the current version does not retain App-originated personal data on developer-operated servers, there is generally no server-side personal data from this App for the developer to delete.

Children's privacy

The App is not primarily directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If the App's features or data practices change, this page will be updated. If future releases add account features, cloud features, push delivery, or external service integrations, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be reviewed before release.
